The English prefix 'hetero' means 'of different or opposite', and 'chromatic' is a music term defined as 'relating to or using notes not belonging to the scale of key in which a particular song was written'. So, the name "Heterochromatic" appropriately refers to the transitions that this song makes -- sometimes unexpectedly changing key, rhythm, and tempo. It is both one of the danciest and hardest-rocking songs that GotS have written, and for that reason it has become a fan-favorite at live performances.
