about

Despite its abundance of speed, energy, and complexity, "Sparse" is actually pretty sparse by GotS's standards. It contains only three major transitions and lasts less than three minutes, but those transitions are abrupt and therefore easy for the first-time listener to follow. The song possesses a catchy "adventure" quality; none of the parts are repeated. "Sparse" is very straightforward from a technical standpoint, so mixing came easy despite its being one of the oldest recordings on the album.
