I got that paraphernalia And scriptures to cure what ails you any day; When I sit down right beside you I'm only trying to hide you from everything; My will will fall apart And crush your willing heart anyway; Too much trouble to understand you, See through your propaganda; I'll be okay You, yeah, you Think it's over; And we, yes, we Know it's not I've got this story to tell ya, It either frees or jails ya and that's okay; You came here just to see me But probably wont believe a word I say; My wings will tear apart And cure your aching heart of all it's pain; Come sit down right beside me And see how right things can be in every way You, yeah, you Think it's over; And we, yeah, we Know it's not

Magnum Morte 03:03
Open Up the vastness of your deadpan mind; When I peer inside There's everything I'd hope not to find And how could anyone be so mean? And how could anyone be so cruel? I guess that I knew it from the start, That you're nothing but a lucky fool Forever I am here; There's nothing left for me to do, And there's nothing left to fear Wake up; Where did you go when you died? Hey man, Try not to look so surprised And how could anyone be so mean? And how could anyone be so cruel? I guess that I knew it from the start, That you're nothing but a lucky fool Forever I am here; There's nothing left for me to do And there's nothing left to fear

Let's forgive it all Cause we cant wait to see; Then we will escape Those who must fight for peace Don't relive it all And your skinned up knees; Let's forget the past And run 'til we can't breathe When it's troublesome To get a good nights sleep, All of your regrets And indiscretions creep; When your wolf-like mind Devours all your sheep, Just forget the past And run til you can't breathe

about

Because this album is now streaming on Spotify and Soundcloud, digital download of this full album will now cost a minimum of $5.

"Citizens of the Universe" is the first full-length album by Guns of the Seneca. It is a collection of original songs composed between 2007 and 2010. All tracks were recorded in their home studio in Raceland, Louisiana -- tracks 4, 6, and 8 in 2008, track 1 in 2010, and tracks 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 between 2013 and 2015. The album contains six instrumental tracks and three lyrical tracks with instrumental finales which adequately capture the power and energy of their live performances. Additional guitar, synth, and percussion tracks were added to some recordings for atmospheric enhancement.

Each song reflects the diverse range of influences of Plair, Olivier, and Frost individually, as well as those of the band collectively at the time they were written. Such influences include but are not limited to:
Radiohead, Fugazi, Incubus, The Mars Volta, El Ten Eleven, TV On The Radio, Jaco Pastorious, Jeff Beck, Minus the Bear, Miles Davis, Trail, Zach Hill, Daikaiju, Pinback, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Battles, A Perfect Circle, etc.

Although GotS's writing process is organic, with no specific direction in mind, "The Vanishing of Isle de Jean Charles" and "Oneironaut", tracks 6 and 9 respectively, became concept songs through the addition of sound samples. In-depth descriptions of those concepts as well as information on all the other songs can be found upon clicking on the individual tracks above.

about

Guns of the Seneca Raceland, Louisiana

Guns of the Seneca is an experimental, multi-genre trio formed in late 2007 by bassist Grant Olivier, guitarist David Plair, and drummer Britton Frost. "Guns of the Seneca" refers to mistpouffers -- mysterious booming noises heard over Lake Seneca, NY that are thought to be the guns and cannons of the lost soldiers of the Battle of Seneca Town during the Revolutionary War. ... more
